Centre preparing 'foolproof' case
against SIMI: Advani

The Centre is preparing a 'foolproof' case to ban the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) for its involvement in anti-national activities, Union Home Minister L K Advani said in Lucknow on Saturday.

Several states, including Uttar Pradesh, have demanded a ban on SIMI and facts and evidences in this regard are being collected, he told reporters.

He said a foolproof case was being prepared so that the government does not find any difficulty in justifying its decision if it is challenged in a court of law.

Advani said the government has received 'alarming' reports about the activities of SIMI from the police and intelligence agencies.
