Accept Kashmir as disputed
territory, says JKDFP

Tara Shankar Sahay in New Delhi

The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Front Party Friday said it did not have any preconditions for talks with the Central government, for solving the Kashmir issue.

However, at a press conference in New Delhi, its representatives Saleem Geelani and Maulana Abdullah Tari made it clear that the clarifications sought by the party from the Centre's interlocutor K C Pant would form the foundation for the talks.

Geelani said that only parties which consider Kashmir as disputed territory should be invited for the talks.

The duo also said that Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah was not a true representative of Kashmiris, as he received less than five per cent votes, with the help of security forces, in the last assembly elections.
