VHP to abide by court verdict, if given early

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad would abide by a court verdict on Ayodhya, provided it is delivered early, a senior leader said on Thursday.

VHP's secretary in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal and Ayodhya, Purushottam Narain Singh said, "We are ready to accept the verdict. But the decision should be made at the earliest."

He expressed confidence that the court's decision would be in the VHP's favour as 'it had evidence to prove its stand'.

"During Chandra Shekhar's prime ministership, when the two groups had met, we had shown the evidence to establish our claims,'' the VHP leader added.

However, in an apparent toughening of stand, he said the transportation of carved stones from karsewakpuram to the temple site would start on March 15.
