A high alert has been sounded and security around American embassy and other institutions in the capital has been tightened following the attack on the United States Information Service office in Kolkata on Tuesday morning.
"We have put our personnel on full alert and security around the US embassy, American institutions and other diplomatic missions has been stepped up following the attack. We are taking the matter very seriously," Joint Commissioner of Police (New Delhi range) Suresh Roy said.
Senior police officials would be reviewing and personally supervising security arrangements, he said.
