Director General of Police (CID Intelligence) Prateep Philip and Inspector General (Vigilance and Anti-corruption) K Radhakrishnan are among five police officers, and the only two non-Britons, to receive the £15,000 award, a release from the British deputy high commissioner's office said on Thursday.
Philip, a member of the Association of British Scholars, Chennai, has won the award for his project Multimedia Training Centre for Friends of Police, which aims to encourage better interface between the public and the police by providing training in community policing for both police officials and the general public.
Radhakrishnan won the award for his project E-training in Dispute Resolution for All-women Police Units. It helps officers working in all-women police stations to effectively deal with domestic violence and problems relating to dowries.
