Normal life in Kashmir valley was paralysed on Saturday as people observed a strike on a call given by All-Parties Hurriyat Conference to commemorate the martyrs of 1931.
Shops, business establishments and educational institutions remained closed, while government and semi-government offices recorded very thin attendance.
Very few vehicles were seen plying as people chose to stay indoors.
The strike call was given by the Hurriyat to 'pay tribute to all the martyrs of July 13, 1931 who laid their lives for freedom struggle'.
