Gujarat: Toll in Viramgam violence goes up

The toll in the communal violence in Viramgam town of Ahmedabad rural district has risen to two, with one more person succumbing to his injuries in the hospital on Saturday even as curfew clamped on Friday night continued to be in force.

The police described the situation as 'still tense'.

One person was killed on Friday night and a dozen others injured in the violence, which erupted after two groups of youngsters, belonging to different communities, indulged in rioting.
