In a surprise move, Nationalist Congress Party legislator Vinay Kore, who had withdrawn support to the Democratic Front government, on Wednesday retracted his move by giving a fresh letter to Maharashtra Governor P C Alexander.
NCP president Sharad Pawar said this at a press conference in Mumbai.
Kore earlier had written a letter to the governor saying that he is withdrawing support to the Democratic Front government because he 'perceived that it would dissolve the legislative assembly'.
"But now he is taking corrective steps by retracting his earlier letter," Pawar said.
Pawar claimed the Congress-NCP led DF government in Maharashtra would be able to prove its majority on the floor of the assembly.
Asked whether there was any proposal to drop party MLA Sunil Tatkare from the ministry, he said, "The issue is being handled by Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal."
"Whatever decision is taken by them, will be acceptable to NCP," he said.
Tatkare's re-induction was not the only issue with Left Front parties, which had withdrawn support to the government, he said, adding, "There are other issues as well."
However, he did not elaborate.
Pawar said the reinduction of Tatkare was exploited by 'certain forces', which are responsible for the political instability in the state.
Regarding the four NCP MLAs withdrawing support, he said, "On this basis, they can be disqualified as they violated the party whip."
