Jaya wants Cauvery authority meet convened

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has asked the Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to convene a meeting of the Cauvery River Water Authority meeting and take steps to get state's share of water from Karnataka, in accordance with the interim award of the Cauvery tribunal.

Disclosing this state Agriculture Minister R Jeevanandam said the chief minister was 'watching the situation' and would not fail to take steps at the 'appropriate time' to get water.
