DMK to quit NDA if Centre allows Ram Temple to be built: Karunanidhi

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president M Karunanidhi on Sunday said that his party would not continue in the National Democratic Alliance government if the Centre allowed Ram Temple to be built at the disputed site in Ayodhya.

"Over 300 people have died in Gujarat because some statement has been made that the temple should be constructed in the same spot," Karunanidhi said, while speaking at a private function in Kumbakonam.

Stating that it was painful to note that such violence was taking place in a state where Mahatma Gandhi was born, he said all must remain united and protect national unity.

He said that the happenings in Gujarat must not be politicised.
