Faizabad commissioner to accept shila

Faizabad Divisional Commissioner A K Gupta on Friday said he would accept the shila (carved stone) from Ram Janambhoomi Nyas president Ramchandra Das Paramhans at Ramkot Mohalla, which is outside the government-acquired land in Ayodhya.

Gupta, who is also the receiver for the acquired land, said the Centre had given him a directive in this regard on Thursday night.

He said sadhus would have a darshan at the makeshift temple on the disputed site after the shila daan.

Gupta also expressed hope that the tense situation in Ayodhya following Paramhans's threat to end his life would be defused following the change in his stand.
