Krishna to walk from Bangalore to
KRS reservoir

Sadananda R in Chamarajanagar

Following the Supreme Court decision asking his government to release water to Tamil Nadu, Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna on Saturday decided to walk from Bangalore to Krishna Raja Sagar reservoir near Mysore.

Krishna's colleagues will join the padayatra of around 165 km, which will begin on October 7.

"I want to tell my people that I am with you at this hour of crisis," Krishna said in Bangalore.

He said he expects to meet people from the Cauvery river basin and hold public functions to educate people about the crisis.

Meanwhile, hundreds of Tamils settled in Karnataka have decide to flee. The exodus started on Friday night after the Supreme Court ruling came in.

Though Tamil organisations in the state have rallied behind the farmers of Karnataka, people are not taking any chances.

While confirming the report, police authorities in Chamarajanagar district said many lorries carrying Tamils have crossed the border since Friday night.
