Man carrying ammo detained at
Kolkata airport

Kolkata airport security on Tuesday detained a passenger carrying eight bullets in his handbag just before he was to board an Indian Airlines flight for New Delhi.

The 45-year-old man, a businessman and resident of Ballygunj area of the city, had concealed the .22 bore bullets in a matchbox, officials said.

The man failed to produce an arms licence on being questioned by the Central Industrial Security Force and was handed over to the police.

He was, however, released after his relatives produced the licence, officials said.
