Bihar police lodge case against
railway employees

The Bihar police of Wednesday lodged a case against railway employees for Monday night's derailment of Howrah-Delhi Rajdhani Express.

The toll in the mishap has risen to 80 and railway authorities say they have not yet been able to enter some of the bogies that jumped the rails and fell into a river near Rafiganj in Aurangabad district in Bihar.

"A case under different sections of the Railway Act and the IPC has been lodged at the Aurangabad railway police station," Director General of Police R R Prasad said.

The driver and the guard of the train are among the railway employees against whom the case has been lodged.

Prasad ruled out the possibility of sabotage being a cause of the accident. "The accident was the result of a human error," he said.

Additional Director General (railway police) J K Sinha will head the investigations into the case.
