40 feared drowned in Uttar Pradesh

Forty people, including women and children, were feared drowned when a boat carrying them to a fair capsized in the river Tons in Azamgarh district in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, police said.

The victims were on their way to the Vishwakarma Mela when the boat capsized.

Rescue operations were on when this report was filed.
