Ramnarayan NamdeoThe medical tests conducted on Central Industrial Security Force constable Ramnarayan Namdeo, who shot his deputy commandant and held six persons hostage on May 24, has revealed that he is normal, police sources said in Mumbai on Friday.

Namdeo was subjected to a number of medical tests to ascertain his physical and mental health.

"We were planning to send him for more tests. However, since these reports have confirmed that he was normal, we have decided not to send him for any more tests," the source said.

Namdeo had shot dead his senior A Karanjkar and held six of his colleagues hostage in the security hold area of Sahar Terminal of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport last Saturday. He released his hostages and surrendered after being persuaded by his parents.

Though Namdeo had earlier claimed he had killed his senior for refusing to sanction his leave, police said he had never applied for leave and had already availed 20 days leave earlier.

Police dubbed the killing a cold-blooded murder, which had been planned and meticulously executed.
