The Telugu Desam Party may blame the naxalites, opposition parties and the Telangana separatists for forcing it to call an early election to the Andhra Pradesh assembly.

A draft political resolution, likely to be finalised at TDP's politburo meeting on Thursday morning and to be adopted later at its general body meeting in the afternoon, cites three reasons for seeking a fresh mandate from the people of Andhra Pradesh.

The resolution finds fault with the opposition, particularly the Congress, for creating a situation, mainly by its 'unwarranted criticism of every government move, wherein the government is finding it difficult to work.

The resolution, while highlighting the achievements of the government, will decry the outlawed People's War for thwarting the state's development.

The naxalites have not only made an assassination bid on Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, they are also targeting the party's leaders and activists.

While reiterating that it has a definite action plan to tackle naxalism by undertaking development of backward areas, the party resolution will seek a fresh mandate on the twin issues of peace and development.

The resolution will also criticise opposition parties for creating confusion in the minds of the people by demanding a separate state of Telangana.

The TDP, which is committed to an integrated state, would like to know what the people of Andhra Pradesh want. And what better way to do that than call a fresh election.
