Farmer suicides unabated in AP

The assurances by Andhra Pradesh government notwithstanding, five debt-ridden farmers committed suicide at various places in Karimnagar district.

K Rajesham (30) of Pathagudur village consumed pesticides to end his life on Saturday, police said on Sunday quoting information reaching Karimnagar.

Other farmers who died due to 'indebtedness' during the past 24 hours are Narsaiah (38) of Narsaiahpalli, P Peddalaingam (45) of Kathlapur, police said.

Lambu Chandra Reddy (60) and Gurram Rahi Reddy (40) of Husnabad and Manakondur mandals respectively also committed suicide as they were unable to pay debts.
