Differences within the Peoples Conference on Saturday came out in the open with its supreme council chairman Bilal Gani Lone expelling his younger brother Sajjad as the chairman of the party.
"I have dissolved the executive committee of the Peoples Conference and expelled Sajjad from the party," Bilal said in Srinagar.
The reason was understood to be Sajjad's criticism of former All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Omar Farooq, who recently led the funeral prayer of a militant leader allegedly involved in the killing of their father Abdul Gani Lone.
