An Ahmedabad court on Thursday issued a fresh warrant for Abdul Karim Telgi, prime accused in the fake stamp paper racket in connection with the case registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate N B Ranek Shah issued a fresh production warrant for April 8, so that Telgi could be brought to Ahmedabad in connection with an investigation into the seizure in 2003 of Rs 7.5 crore worth of fake stamp papers from a locked house in Ghatlodia locality. Three persons arrested in this regard are at present in judicial custody in Karnataka.
The CBI had earlier procured a production warrant from the same court but could not produce Telgi on Wednesday as the Karnataka government has restricted his movement with legislation.
