The Bharatiya Janata Party is likely to make an in-depth analysis of its rout in the recent Lok Sabha election, during the party's `Chintan Baithak' (brainstorming session) which gets underway in Panaji, Goa, tomorrow.
Most of the party's top leaders, including former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, L K Advani, party president M Venkaiah Naidu as well as chief ministers of BJP-ruled states, are expected to attend the four-day meet.
The meet, earlier scheduled to begin in the morning, has since been postponed and will commence late in the evening, the party's state unit said.
The low-profile Goa International Centre at Dona Paula is the venue for the meet, in contrast with the five-star hotel booked for the party's national executive meeting held in the state in 2002. The instruction from the high command was to keep the venue away from the spotlight, sources said, adding that the entire meeting would be held in-camera, and no media was likely to be allowed in.
Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, however, said the reason for choosing a five-star venue last time was because of security reasons. "Since Atalji is no longer the prime minister and does not need the kind of entourage and security that can only be feasible in a five-star venue, there was no need to book one this time," he added.
The meet, which was originally scheduled to end on Sunday, would continue till Monday, sources added.
