Want to make Rs 21 lakh quickly? All you need to do is find a dacoit's wife.
Confused? Read on.
Nirbhay Gujjar, a dreaded dacoit in UP, abducted a 20-year-old woman, Neelam, around three years ago. Neelam then fell in love with him and the two got married on January 26, 2004.
But the lady developed a liking for Nirbhay's foster son Shyam, with whom she has now eloped.
A furious Nirbhay has declared a reward of Rs 21 lakh for anyone who brings him his wife and foster son -- dead or alive.
The dacoit has set up three teams to track them down, sources said. He has also sought help from other gangs.
Neelam's brother Kallu had come to visit her on Sunday evening and a party was arranged for him, where liquor flowed freely.
After Nirbhay and the others went off to sleep, the couple and Kallu escaped on the latter's motorcycle.
The couple reportedly took away Rs 800,000 in cash, jewellery and arms. They also took away all the mobile phones.
Nirbhay, it seems, has a penchant for abductions.
He had abducted Shyam from Delhi around 15 years ago. Son of a businessman, Dalchandra Jatav, Shyam was picked up when he was only nine. Nirbhay kept Shyam back as there was some dispute over the ransom money and his first wife, Munni Pandey, brought him up as her own.
Nirbhay, who is childless, trained Shyam to take over the gang. In fact, after his foster father's marriage, Shyam had begun controlling the gang's activities.
Shyam is married Surla, whom he had abducted from Aurraiya.
This is not the first time that Nirbhay, who carries a reward of Rs 2.5 lakh on his head, has been betrayed.
Munni Pandey too had eloped with Nirbhay's cousin, Munna Gujjar. But Nirbhay tracked them down and shot them dead.
