The Jammu police have arrested a former general manager of a local cable network in connection with the porn CD scandal in which former Miss Jammu Anara Gupta was taken into custody on November 4.
Narendra Kohli surrendered before S P Vaid, inspector general of police, Jammu division, on Sunday.
Kohli who had moved an anticipatory bail application before Vinod Gupta, executive magistrate, Jammu, was directed to surrender before his bail plea was taken up.
Gupta's bail petition was also posted for hearing on November 8 after the magistrate went through the contents of the CD.
The name of a politician's son also figures in the scandal, which has evoked an angry response from the people of Jammu.
"My client is barely twenty-two and she has been lured into the sex scam," Y P Kaushal, Gupta's counsel, told rediff.com
"Ms Gupta was charging anything between Rs 10,000 to 50,000 from her clients for rendering her services," a senior police official told rediff.com
Gupta is a matriculate and lost her father few years back. She was running her home along with her brother, who has a shop in Jammu.
Gupta has named several people, including some college girls, in her statement to the police.
