Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is going ahead with his two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir from November 17.
Following media reports that the visit has been put off, a spokesman in the Prime Minister's Office said on Wednesday there is no change in the schedule and that Singh "is looking forward to his visit to the state and to meet and interact with a wide cross-section of the people".
He termed the reports as "factually incorrect" and said, "There is no change in the prime minister's scheduled visit to the state."
According to sources, during his visit, the PM is likely to announce a Rs 3,000 crore package for the state.
He is also likely to lay the foundation stone of the Kashmir University's South Kashmir campus in Anantnag, the sources added.
