The moderate faction of Hurriyat Conferenceªplans toªmeet Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf in New Delhi on April 17, Hurriyat Chairman Mirwaiz Umer Farooq said on Tuesday.

Farooq was addressing journalists in Srinagar after meeting the executive committee and general council of the separatist amalgam.

"We wanted to meet the Indian and Pakistani leaders," he said, adding, "The Pakistan High Commission has invited us to meet Musharraf but there has been no positive response from Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh's office as yet."

He said the amalgam wants to avail the opportunity to impress upon the two countries that a 'permanent, honourable and just' solution to the Kashmir issue was not possible without the inclusion of representatives of Kashmiris in the dialogue process.

Meanwhile, the People's Conference of Bilal Gani Lone abstained from the Hurriyat meeting.

"We are not attending the meeting," said Lone, who heads one of the three factions of the People's Conference.

On former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's statement that there will be no redrawing of the boundaries in resolving the Kashmir issue, the Mirwaiz said 'unilateral decisions, be it from India or Pakistan, would not be acceptable to us'.
