The Judge, who heard arguments from both sides on Monday, had reserved his order for Tuesday.
Monica's counsel Sudhir Batra told the court that as the Bollywood starlet had left the country in December 2000, there was no need for her to come to Bhopal and get a fake passport issued in 2001.
Prosecution counsel P N Singh Rajput opposed the bail petition pointing out that Monica had been arrested with the assistance of Interpol and she and Salem were brought to India with great difficulty.
Salem, his wife Samira Jumani and Monica were charged with acquiring passports using fake names of Danish Baig, Rubina Baig and Fajuia Usman respectively from the regional passport office in Bhopal.
A case was registered in this regard at the city's Koh-i-fiza police station in November 2001.
Two city residents, Syed Abdul alias Shiraj Abdul and his brother Kabir alias Baba Abu, who assisted them in getting fake passports, were already on bail.
Monica was brought to Bhopal from Hyderabad on December 5, where she was interrogated during the two-day police remand. She was later sent back to Hyderabad.
