With a Chandigarh-based forensic lab claiming that former Miss Jammu Anara Gupta indeed featured in a porn VCD, the Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory, which had earlier given her a clean chit, on Wednesday said it stood by its report.
"We had compared the CD as per forensic biometric studies from head to toe, including the fingers, toes and the hair line. We found the lady featured in the blue film sent by the J&K police was not Anara," APFSL Director Dr K P C Gandhi said.
"APFSL is an ISO 9001 and 17025 certified laboratory of international standards and the report was based on its investigation on the said standards," Gandhi added.
The J&K police had sent the porn CD and photographs of Anara to APFSL in the last week of December. Parallelly, they sent the CD to the Chandigarh lab too.
APFSL submitted its report in January this year.
On February 4, the police asked the Jammu and Kashmir high court to permit them to close the case against Anara.
Gandhi, however, refused to comment on the Chandigarh Forensic Laboratory report.
Anara's family, meanwhile is preparing to approach the President and prime minister to seek a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the matter.
Anara was arrested in November last year with five others and booked under the cinematography, immoral trafficking and information technology acts.
