The Telugu Desam Party on Tuesday reiterated its demand for the dismissal of the Y S Rajasekhara Reddy government in Andhra Pradesh.

The party has now called for a Central Bureau of Investigation probe and a judicial inquiry into the killing of party legislator and former minister Paritala Ravindra, Ravi to his supporters.

Naidu blamed the Congress government for Ravi's death.

"We had been demanding for a foolproof security for Ravi since he received threats from unknown quarters," said TDP chief and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who was on his way to attend Ravi's funeral.

Earlier, in November 1997, an attempt was made on Ravi's life at Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad. In this attack, 25 persons were killed and several injured. Ravi was unhurt.

Citing many cases of violence against TDP leaders and workers, Naidu said violence against political rivals started the day the Congress came to power.

He added that the TDP moved various forums and represented the matter right from the speaker to the President of India, but the government continues to target the opposition.

Ravi was killed, along with his gunman and a party activist, in a bomb attack in Anantapur town on Monday afternoon.
