Two pilgrims to the holy cave shrine of Amarnath in Kashmir died on Wednesday, taking the death toll to 10 in the ongoing annual pilgrimage, official sources said.
Lokash (38) of Gujarat died of cardiac arrest at Sheshnag on his return after darshan of the naturally formed ice-lingam at the 3,880 metre-high cave shrine on Wednesday morning, the sources said.
They said another pilgrim Shiv Diyal Singh of Punjab fell ill at Nunwan base camp in Pahalgam on Tuesday and was immediately shifted to a hospital where he breathed his last on Wednesday morning.
Eight pilgrims hailing from different parts of the country have died since the pilgrimage began on June 21.
