Imrana, who was allegedly raped by her father-in-law Ali Mohammed in Muzaffarnagar recently, has decided to oppose his bail plea when it comes up for hearing on July 27.
Her lawyer Sitaram Sharma told PTI on Saturday that he would strongly contest Ali's bail plea in the local court.
Police have already filed a chargesheet against Ali with details of the victim's recorded statement. Ali is in police custody after being denied bail.
The rape case hit the headlines after a local community panchayat asked the woman to treat her husband as her son after the rape incident.
Meanwhile, the Shariat court, which was asked by the Islamic seminary Darul-ul-uloom of Deoband to decide the future relationship of the victim with her in-laws, is yet to start proceedings in the case.
