The General Court Martial, trying the Brigadier Iqbal Singh in Tehelka expose, on Wednesday witnessed high drama as the accused Brigadier staged a walkout from the court and was later ordered to be arrested.

He was arrested by the military police and later produced in court in the afternoon.

The court martial resumed on Wednesday for the examination of prosecution witness Anirudh Bahal, editor-in-chief of tehelka.com and who was in charge of the sting operation.

When the prosecution counsel Arvind Moudgil sought permission to examine the witness, the accused Brigadier got up and tried to move an application in the court seeking permission to cross-examine Lt Col V P Syal, who had turned hostile in the case.

Judge colonel Tripathi advised the accused that he could be allowed to cross-examine Lt Col Syal in case he had some new points to raise.

The accused however failed to give a satisfactory reply upon which the presiding officer Major General P Khanna advised him to maintain dignity of the court.

The accused, however, maintained that his counsel had advised him to disassociate himself from the proceedings of the general court martial.
