Ten people were feared killed when a vehicle fell into a river in the Darjeeling hills in West Bengal, the police said on Sunday.
The accident occurred on Saturday night when a weak bridge collapsed under the weight of a small truck carrying some workmen and construction material near the tourist town of Kurseong.
The vehicle then fell into the swirling Teesta river.
"Three people were rescued, but about 10 people are still missing," Darjeeling Police Superintendent Rajiv Mishra said.
Divers looking for survivors said they were not very hopeful of finding any survivors.
