Professor Abdul Gani Bhat, former chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, who is part of the six member delegation that would hold meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday evening in New Delhi, is hopeful that something positive would emerge from the high profile meet.
Speaking to rediff.com on phone from his residence in Srinagar before leaving for New Delhi, Bhat said that both India and Pakistan have to acknowledge the changing realities of time and make their approach towards Kashmir more flexible.
"There are no words with which I could describe the invitation extended by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to the APHC leaders," he said.
He lauded India and Pakistan for taking the peace talks forward.
"Both the nations have to show flexibility in their approach. There have been some significant changes in the stand of both the nations. The world lives on expectations and we are part of the world," he said when asked about his expectations from the meeting between Dr Singh and the APHC delegation that would be led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the current chairman.
