While the Jammu and Kashmir police is busy ascertaining the links between the two grenade attacks in the heart of Sringar on Tuesday and pinpoint the terrorist groups behind it, Communist Party of India (Marxist), which is part of the Ghulam Nabi Azad government has asked the chief minister to come out with the truth.
"This is a serious and desperate bid to destabilise the state government and the sudden spurt in the tourism sector," Yusuf Tarigami, CPM member, told rediff.com on phone from Srinagar. "I will confirm the facts for myself and revert back to you."
Terrorists hurled a grenade on a tourist bus near Srinagar's Dalgate, while a car bomb explosion took place at Regal Chowk a short while later. In all, four people have been killed and 16 injured.
"The state government should come out with the truth," said Politburo member Nilopat Basu.
According to senior CPM leaders, the West Bengal government may seriously reconsider allowing tourists from the state to visit Srinagar, in view of the increasing terrorist attacks on tourist buses. This is the second time that a bus from West Bengal has been attacked.
