Siddaramaiah resigns from Karnataka Assembly

Former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday resigned from Assembly membership.

Siddaramaiah, who is set to join the Congress, submitted his resignation to the Assembly Speaker, Krishna. The Speaker immediately announced that he had accepted the resignation of Siddaramaiah.

Congress leaders D K Shivakumar, R V Deshpande and others accompanied Siddaramaiah when he submitted his letter of resignation.

Siddaramaiah represents Chamundeshwari Assembly constituency in Mysore city.
