Ten persons including seven pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan were wounded in a militant attack in Srinagar on Monday afternoon.
A senior police officer said here militants lobbed a grenade at a local bus carrying pilgrims to the north Kashmir Baltal base camp of the Amarnath Yatra.
"The grenade exploded inside the bus wounding seven pilgrims belonging to Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Three others wounded in the attack are local civilians," the officer said.
All the injured have been shifted to the SMHS hospital in Srinagar where attending doctors said some of the wounded had critical splinter injuries.
It must be recalled the militant attack which occurred in the Batmaloo area of the city which is situated close to the civil secretariat in the city where the offices of the chief minister, other ministers and senior officials are located.
So far there have been six militant attacks on the tourists and Amarnath pilgrims in Srinagar in which 14 tourists were killed and over three dozen wounded.
