Refuting claims reportedly made by a Taliban commander that abducted Indian engineer K Surayanarayana was killed at the instance of its Inter Services Intelligence, Pakistan on Sunday said it has never sponsored the policy of killing civilians.

"We have been condemning killing of civilians where ever they occurred as acts of terrorism. It is not the government policy to sponsor killing of civilians," Pakistan Foreign Office Spokesperson Tasnim Aslam told PTI, reacting to reports by Afghan Tolu TV which quoted a Taliban commander as saying Surayanarayana was killed at the instance of the ISI.

Aslam said Pakistan government would have come out with an official reaction had such claims been made by the Indian government.

"Reports such as these are not worth commenting on. But, if anybody has any evidence, they are welcome to forward it," she said.

She said Tolu TV had made such claims against Pakistan in the past attributing them to some Afghan officials, which were later denied.
