Telangana Rashtra Samithi members were suspended for the day on Monday for obstructing the proceedings of Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly.

Trouble began as soon as the House assembled for the day. Speaker K R Suresh Reddy disallowed the adjournment notices given by Telugu Desam Party, Communist Party of India-Marxist and Communist Party of India on the multi-crore rupee scam relating to misappropriation of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan funds amounting to 40 crore.

TRS gave an adjournment notice on the problems of people in fluoride-affected areas in Nalgonda district.

Finance and Legislative Affairs Minister K Rosaiah said the government was ready to make a statement on the SSA scam after the debate and discussion on the motion of thanks for the Governor's address to the joint session of State Assembly and newly-revived legislative council.

However, as the members of TDP, TRS and Left parties insisted that their adjournment notices be taken up, the Speaker adjourned the House for 15 minutes. After the House reassembled, TRS members continued to obstruct the proceedings, demanding a discussion on the issue raised by them. The Speaker assured the agitated members that he would give them an opportunity after the debate and reply on the thanks-giving motion for the Governor's address.

Ignoring the Speaker's plea, TRS members rushed towards the podium. At this stage, the Speaker named them. The legislative affairs minister moved a motion seeking suspension of TRS members. After the motion was carried, TRS members were sent out of the House.
