Positive signals emerged on Thursday night about Shiv Sena's voting for National Democratic Alliance vice-presidential candidate Najma Heptulla in the poll on Friday following a long telephonic talk between Bharatiya Janata Party chief Rajnath Singh and Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray, Sena sources said.
The sources said Thackeray also had talks with former prime minister and NDA chairman Atal Bihari Vajpayee a couple of days back.
Sena sources said Thackeray will make a formal announcement about the stand the party will take on whom to support in the vice-presidential poll.
The ties between BJP and Sena have been strained for over a month in the wake of Sena siding with United Progressive Alliance-Left candidate Pratibha Patil in the presidential election by breaking ranks with BJP.
