Police investigating the alleged kidnapping of two Non Resident Indian girls from a mall here said Monday the two caught a flight to Mumbai along with a youth known to them and went on their own.
"This is not a kidnapping," Gurgaon Range Inspector- General of Police Mohinder Lal said adding Jaun Ruchi Jaitley, 20, and Aaisa Aditi Jaitley, 9, would soon be traced and questioned.
Senior Superintendent of Police Hanief Qureshi said Vipul Scott Jaitley, "A 1984-born man as per the US passport issued to him, came to Palm Town and Country Club at Sushant Lok at around 11 am on Sunday and booked room No 106".
He later took a taxi driven by one Shishpal to DT City Centre, got it parked there, and at around 4:30 pm, came with the two girls to the club, the SSP said.
Shishpal told police the three were dropped at the domestic terminal of Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.
Qureshi said Jaun Ruchi and Aaisa Aditi had gone from their Beverly Park house to the City Centre with a relative Rita Kapoor.
"At around 4 pm, a security guard at the mall saw the three females and the youth at a eating outlet and informed the police that he saw no force being used by the youth while the two girls accompanied him to the vehicle in which they drove away," he said.
Kapoor told the girls' father Tajpal Jaitley, who in turn informed the police control room alleging his daughters were kidnapped and might be taken to the US or Canada.
A case under sections 363 (kidnapping) and 366 (kidnapping with intent to secretly and wrongfully confine person) was lodged Sunday evening, Lal said adding that the immigration department was alerted and asked to ensure the three do not leave the country.
