Hours after actor Sanjay Dutt was given six-year jail term in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, his family members and relatives met him in the high-security Arthur Road Jail where he has been kept after the sentencing.
Special TADA court granted permission to Dutt to meet his relatives and family members, who were staying at a nearby hotel keeping track of the proceedings.
Soon after the sentencing was pronounced, they rushed to the Arthur Road Jail in Central Mumbai.
Dutt's sister and Congress parliamentarian Priya, his elder sister Namrata and brothers-in-law Owen Roncon and Kumar Gaurav along with his lawyers met him in the barrack of the jail where the special court is situated.
The film star was sentenced to six years rigorous imprisonment for illegal possession of an AK-56 assault rifle and a pistol. The court rejected Dutt's application seeking permission to surrender later.
