Panthers Party withdrew its support for the Congress-led coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, a senior party leader said.
The letter of withdrawal of the support of its four MLAs to the Ghulam Nabi Azad government was handed over at the residence of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Sanjay Sachdeva, a senior party leader, told PTI.
The withdrawal of support will not threaten the stability of the Congress-PDP coalition in the state, which is placed well above the 50 mark in the 89-seat assesmbly.
The issue of demilitarisation, as sought by another alliance partner PDP, was not acceptable to the party, he said.
He said that the issue of Kashmiri Pandits' return to the state was 'virtually treated as a joke' by successive state governments and 'no tangible efforts were made for their return'.
