In an unprecedented development, three ruling Left Front partners tonight decided to pull out of the West Bengal ministry if the CPM failed to fulfill their five-point charter of demands.
In a conclave late on Friday evening, the Forward Bloc, the Revolutionary Socialist Party and the Communist Party of India finalised a strategy to put pressure on the CPM to maintain coalition dharma, a day ahead of the crucial Left Front meeting on the Nandigram issue.
Veteran Forward Bloc leader Ashok Ghosh said the three parties were unanimous that the government fix responsibility for the Nandigram carnage, withdraw police from the area and declare that no land would be acquired for the proposed SEZ for a chemical hub.
