Continuing his tirade against the Election Commission, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav on Wednesday alleged that the Commission was acting as an agent of ruling Congress.
Addressing an election rally in Budaon after filing nomination papers from Gunnaur assembly constituency, Yadav also took exception to the Commission's decision to keep the state police out of the polling centres.
"Our police and PAC are very capable yet they have been kept out of the polling centres," he alleged.
Yadav, who is contesting from two places, alleged that he had to contest from Gunnaur and Bharthana seats as there was a conspiracy against him.
"I have also been getting complaints against the EC," he claimed adding that he, however, would not like to make any comment at this time.
Later speaking to media persons, the SP leader rubbished reports that he had given false declaration regarding his assets before the EC.
"Whatever is in the declaration is correct and it has nothing to do with the ongoing disproportionate assets case against me in the Supreme Court," he claimed.
