Gujarat CID IGP Geeta Johri, who heads the investigation into the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case, on Friday met Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Balwinder Singh and Additional Commissioner of Police (Crimes) Rajiv Trivedi and made inquiries about the role of the Andhra Pradesh police in the abduction of Sohrabuddin, his wife Kausar Bi and another person by a Gujarat police team from a private bus that left Hyderabad in November 2005.

Johri met Balwinder Singh for about 15 minutes. She also met Trivedi for over two hours. When mediapersons waiting at Trivedi's office literally mobbed her, she left the venue without answering their queries.

She had one-to-one meetings with both the commissioner and the additional commissioner.

Trivedi, too, curtly told the media, "I have nothing to say. The matter is sub judice."

Johri, who arrived in Hyderabad on the night of May 9, met Director-General of Police M A Basith on Thursday.

She had also met Central Reserve Police Force DIG E Radhakrishnaiah, a Gujarat cadre IPS officer, and made inquiries about the logistical support extended by him when a Gujarat police team led by Raj Kumar Pandiyan visited Hyderabad in November 2005.

According to sources, Johri is likely to be in Hyderabad on Saturday and will return back to Ahmedabad in the evening.

She is likely to submit her report to the Supreme Court by May 15.

It may be recalled that Sohrabuddin, Kausar Bi and another person were picked up by the Gujarat police anti-terrorist squad team, which intercepted the private bus carrying them on the Hyderabad-Mumbai highway just after it crossed the AP border on November 22, 2005.
