Officials from the Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday interrogated Priyanka Todi, daughter of prime accused Ashok Todi and widow of Muslim computer graphics teacher Rizwanur Rahman, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances a few days after his marriage.
"At the request of the Todi family, we have interrogated Priyanka at a third place. She has not been interrogated at her house or at the CBI office. She has been interrogated elsewhere," said CBI Joint Director Arun Kumar.
According to CBI sources, Priyanka fully cooperated with the officers and answered all their questions.
"We are very pleased with Priyanka's cooperation and she has helped a lot in the investigation," Kumar said.
In the last four days, the CBI has interrogated more than 20 people and has reportedly obtained very helpful clues about the investigation.
Rizwanur, who married the daughter of affluent businessman Ashok Todi on August 18, was found dead on September 21 next to a rail track at Dum Dum in Kolkata.
The state government, which initially ordered a probe into the incident on September 24, later ordered a judicial inquiry after Rizwanur's death led to a public outcry.
In a late move, the state government also removed five police officers, including the police commissioner and two deputy commissioners of Kolkata Police, over the issue
