"Nasir will be receiving 50 kgs of RDX and TT guns from Pakistan, after which a series of attacks would be carried out from January 30 onwards." This chilling statement is from the confession made by Asadulla, a second year Ayurveda student from Karnataka, who was arrested along with Mohammed Raziuddin Nasir on charges of terrorism.

Although the investigators are yet to ascertain the motive behind the duo's planned terror attacks, they maintain that a major catastrophe has been averted by the timely arrest of Asadulla and Nasir.

Nasir has also given the police crucial information about the IISC attack, and the police finally have some leads in the two-year-old case.

In Asadulla's confession, he talks about his and Nasir's plan of action in detail and about their targets.

Statement: "I hail from Hosapet and was staying at a rented house in Hemanthnagar Hubli with a roommate who is doing his MBBS. I was arrested on January 11, with Raziuddin Nasir, by the Honally police. A stolen bike was also seized from us. We told the police that we had stolen the bike and a bag from Goa. We didn't intend telling the police about our mission as it would ruin all the plans made by us.

In October 2007, I came in contact with Nasir, a resident of Hyderabad. Since he did not have a place to stay, I asked him to stay at our place. Nasir said that he would cook for both of us and also take care of other household work.

Mohammed Raziuddin Nasir

Nasir used to encourage me to read a lot of Islamic and Jihadi literature. It was only later that he told me that he was a member of several outfits like the Student's Islamic Movement of India, Tehrike Tahafooz, Shere-e-Islam, Lashkar-e-Tayiba and Dasfa Jihad-o-Shariath. He was an expert in bomb making and taught me how to make bombs. Nasir also claimed that he was capable of handling several weapons like AK-47, pistols, Rocket launcher, hand grenades and heavy machine guns.

We used to discuss events related to Muslims and decided to take revenge on all those who opposed Islam and Muslims. We traveled to Hubli, Goa, Karwar, Udupi, Mangalore and Bangalore. We then prepared a map and marked all the places where we could carry out blasts. These places were marked in red ink. All along, we also used the internet to find more information on each place. We also purchased air guns and practiced shooting in the forest areas."

In his confession, Asadulla listed their targets – the Ganesh temple in Secundarabad,>Asadulla DG office, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Hubli airport, Krishna temple in Udupi and some railway stations.

He said that their plan was on the verge of being executed and added that they had already made the bombs. "Nasir had prepared several bombs by using Ammonium Nitrate. We planned to place the bombs in the bikes that we had stolen. We had four stolen bikes with us. We planned to ride the bikes into the targeted places and park the bike in a crowded area," Assidullah told the police.

Although the police have managed to extract plenty of information from both Nasir and Asadulla, they feel that the duo have more useful information. The Corps of Detectives has now been roped in to probe the duo as the case is of interest to police forces from various states.

The duo will also be subjected to narco analysis tests during this week.
