Rajkumar, an accused in the sensational Aarushi murder case, has gone to Nepal following his release from jail on bail, raising questions about his availability for questioning by CBI should the need arise.
"Rajkumar's parents are in Nepal. So, he has gone there. No restriction has been imposed by the court while granting bail on his movement," Rajkumar's lawyer Naresh Yadav told PTI.
However, prime accused in the murder case Krishna, who also hails from Nepal, did not leave India.
Krishna is very much in India and has not left the country. He has no intention to leave the country," Krishna's lawyer Fateh Chand Sharma said.
Krishna, the compounder of Noida-based dentist Rajesh Talwar, is a prime accused in the murder of Aarushi and her domestic help Hemraj on the intervening night of May 15-16.
Rajkumar is the domestic help of Talwar's family friends Durranis.
"The CBI has their addresses in Nepal. It is a big agency and whenever they need them, CBI can contact both. In case they are not able to, they can ask me and I will bring them here," Yadav said claiming Krishna too has gone to Nepal.
The double murder caught the attention of the nation following the arrest of Aarushi's father Rajesh Talwar by police for the crime. However, he was later released as the CBI has not found any evidence against him.
The CBI arrested Rajkumar and Krishna terming them as accused. But it could not file a chargesheet against them within the stipulated time due to lack of evidence.
The delay in filing the chargesheet has enabled both the accused to get bail on September 12.
