President's four-day visit to GoaPresident K R Narayanan will arrive in Goa tomorrow on a four-day visit. The President will participate in the 36th anniversary of Goa's liberation from Portuguese rule. Narayanan will inaugurate the five-day annual food and cultural festival organised by the department of tourism to popularise Goan culinary skills and culture. Goan pop singer Remo Fernandes will perform on the occasion. The President will be given a civic reception on Saturday at the Goa Kala Academy. The main highlight of the liberation day will be a ceremonial parade, where Goa Chief Minister Pratapsing Rane will take the salute and address a gathering at the Campal parade grounds. Later, Rane will lay the foundation stone for India's first oceanarium, at Miramar. The project will be executed by an Indian group in collaboration with an Australian partner. The oceanarium will be built on lines of the one in Singapore. UNI |
