Police search Shiney's home for evidence

The medical report of the domestic help, who accused actor Shiney Ahuja of rape, revealed that she had been sexually assaulted.

"We have received the medical report of the victim and it has corroborated what the victim has alleged against the actor in the FIR (First Information Report)," Deputy Commissioner of Police Niket Kaushik told PTI.

The police arrested Ahuja after preliminary medical tests on the woman confirmed sexual assault.

A forensic team visited the actor's home in northwest Mumbai where the alleged offence was committed, to try and obtain more evidence from the site. The house was sealed by the police later.

The police will also send clothes worn by the actor and the victim on the day of the incident to the Forensic Science Laboratory for tests.

Ahuja, who was arrested on Sunday night, is in police custody till June 18. The actor, who spent the night in the Andheri police lock-up in northwest Mumbai, was brought to the Oshiwara police station, also in northwest Mumbai, for interrogation on Tuesday.
